The first is a price oracle for DeFi. Its design, called Scribe, uses Schnorr signatures, a scheme that lets many signers' signatures be combined into one. The contract verifies a single aggregated signature instead of one per node, so adding signers does not raise the gas cost of an update. Chronicle says this makes its updates cheaper than rivals'; independent comparisons of that claim are thin. The second is verification for real-world assets. **Proof of Asset** sources holdings data directly from a fund's custodians and administrators and publishes a continuously attested record of what the fund holds, where it is held and what it is worth. That goes further than a single NAV number: a lending protocol can see the composition behind the price. The earlier RWA Oracle launched with M^0, a protocol that issues a T-bill-backed dollar token, to check its collateral continuously. The Verified Asset Oracle serves [Superstate's](/en/blog/companies/superstate/) USTB fund. The BUIDL case shows the model. Securitize had named RedStone its primary oracle in 2025. In March 2026 BUIDL also became "verified onchain by Chronicle Proof of Asset", and STAC followed. Securitize's own merger filings in spring 2026 name both RedStone and Chronicle as its oracle providers. ## How it is different Chronicle's roots give it a different customer base. DefiLlama has tracked [Sky](/en/blog/companies/sky/), Spark and M^0 among the protocols where Chronicle supplies most price feeds, and Chronicle was chosen for Spark's 1 bn USD Tokenization Grand Prix, a Sky-ecosystem programme to allocate reserves into tokenized Treasury funds. When the buyer of a tokenized fund is a DeFi treasury, Chronicle is often already its oracle. On RWA the distinction from RedStone is scope. RedStone carries the administrator's NAV and proves the chain of custody of that number. Chronicle's Proof of Asset looks through to the holdings. The two can sit on the same fund without overlap, as they do on BUIDL. Much of Chronicle's secured value has come from Sky and its satellites; a change in Sky's oracle choices would hit Chronicle hard. Holdings verification is only as good as its inputs. Proof of Asset relies on data from custodians and administrators; it makes that data public and timestamped but does not audit it. Scale figures disagree. Chronicle's total secured value has been reported at very different levels depending on the source and method, and no single figure is authoritative.
